PureBloc is a water-based crystallization product which is designed to block moisture transmission in concrete and masonry structures. The crystals de-activate in dry conditions and re-activate in wet conditions.
Provides a permanent solution to water ingress, as a result water and vapor movement stops within 24hours. Penetrates deep into the structure via capillary action and resists constant hydrostatic pressure. Allows a wet substrate to be quickly dried out with minimum costs. Can be used to prevent any future water ingress problems.
Ideal for internal and external application. Completely invisible once dry. Does not alter the surface appearance and can be painted after application. Non-hazardous and non-toxic water borne product, solvent and silicone free. Fully biodegradable and UV resistant.
Areas of Use:
- Walls & Floors in basements
- Foundations & Slabs
- Concrete floors
- Tunnels
- Reservoirs and Waterways
Application:
Apply on a clean surface free from dust, dirt, oil, efflorescence, organic growth and old paint films. Remove any coating that will not allow PureBloc to penetrate the substrate.
PureBloc may be applied to damp surfaces as long as no standing water or puddles are present. Ready to use, no need for dilution. Apply using a low pressure spray, brush or roller.
- Apply the first coat of PureBloc at a rate of 5 m2 /L. The concrete or masonry substrate must remain wet with PureBloc for at least 30 minutes.
- After the concrete or masonry substrate is dry (normally 1 to 2 hours at 20°C), apply the second coat of PureBloc at a rate of 10m2/L making sure that substrate is wet for 30 minutes.
- Allow the surface to completely dry for at least 24 hours. During the drying stage, good circulation of air is needed.
- Once the moisture contents drops to a reading within the required limits specified by the end user or the floor covering manufacturer, the substrate must be cleaned to remove any surface crystals or efflorescence materials that might be pushed to the surface as a result of the treatment. Cleaning can be done by any method you may find suitable such as mopping, flushing with water, etc.
Coverage:
Minimum of two coats recommended. Overall, approx. 3-4 m2 per litre of PureBloc. Coverage depends on the temperature and porosity of the concrete.
