Clear Glaze is used to reduce color strength of colored Finisher’s™ Glaze Glazing Stain to whatever level is necessary. Mixes readily with all Finisher’s Glaze™ glazing stain colors. Does not interfere with the adhesion of topcoats. It has good open time and can be recoated within 1 – 2 hours.
Advantages:
- Easy to handle, application by brushing, wiping or spraying
- Excellent adhesion between the sealer, glaze and topcoat
- Compatible with most varnishes and urethanes
- Excellent UV resistance
Directions:
Surface should be sealed with a sanding sealer and sanded with 280 – 320 grit sandpaper before applying Glaze. Apply glaze liberally using a glazing brush or rag and allow it to set for a short period of time. Wipe to desired effect and color by removing excess glaze.
Use a glazing brush to blend out harsh lines and achieve the desired effect.
Caution: leaving too heavy a coat of Glaze may cause poor intercoat adhesion.
Note: For best results and to avoid wrinkling and other finish related problems, Glazes must be top coated within 6 hours of application.
